Glen Grant 31 Year Old 1991 Single Cask (Master of Malt)

Single malts from Glen Grant tend to do very well with long ageing, so we've been waiting patiently to bottle this one up. It spent a whole 31 years maturing in a single refill hogshead between 1991 and 2023. We thought about giving it a finish in a super-active sherry cask for darker colour and extra punch, but upon giving it a taste, we realised that was absolutely not necessary – it's perfect as it is! It's positively packed with fruit-forward character with heaps of juicy peaches and crème caramel sweetness. A total of 50 bottles join our exclusive Single Cask collection.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Apples open things up before juicy peach and vanilla, pear, and buttery shortbread. Bright and fragrant with notes of honeysuckle, cinder toffee, mellow oak and crumbly fudge.

Palate

Crème caramel is joined by sugared almonds, apple sweeties, and vanilla before a tickle of cinnamon and ginger arrives. Juicy tinned peaches and cream. Wafers, runny toffee, brown butter, crème brulee.

Finish

That peach carries all the way through, with notes of gummy sweets and fromage frais, dried pineapple and mango alongside rich vanilla, toffee, and custard. So fruity and gently creamy, with just a hint of oaken spice in the distance.
