Bourbon
A tremendous single malt from Glen Grant, distilled in 1994 and matured for a generous 28 years in a single ex-bourbon barrel. In 2022, the cask found its way to the folks at indie bottler Càrn Mòr, who celebrated by cracking it open and releasing a total of 99 cask strength bottles, without colour or chill filtration, for its Celebration of the Cask series.
Blueberry jam and summer berries open things up, while creamy vanilla and nutty malt develop.
Peanut brittle and sweet, biscuity malt lead to mellow notes of stewed fruits, a touch of roasted coffee, and vanilla fudge.
Oily oak finishes things off, while silky toffee and buttery barley linger.
