Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1965
The bottlers Gordon and MacPhail suggest this as a cigar malt, rich and sherried as it is. This was distilled in 1965 at Glen Grant and matured in first fill sherry butts.
The nose is quite rich with a good sweetness. Notes of Sauternes and dates, hints of chewy toffee and rosewater. A note of chewy oak with a gentle smoke rising from the spent embers. The palate is quite full and rich. There is a good oaked note. Plenty of winter spice rises with notes of apple peels and cut fruits. A gentle smoke emerges, followed by sherried notes. The finish is quite long with apple juice and spice.
