Glen Grant 10 Bottling Note

A great beginner's whisky right here from the Glen Grant Distillery, produced in tall pot stills. This 10 year old Speyside single malt, having spent a decade in bourbon casks, boasts oodles of light, malty notes. A top dram for warmer weather.

Glen Grant 10 Year Old Reviews

Not at all for beginners. This is for connoiseurs.

This is an exceptional whisky for its age and price.
Softness
Sweetness
Suppleness
A caress of malt in a delicous medium the colour of Pouilly-Fuissé.

Sweet and juicy

This is a great dram from a truly wonderful distillery

Too good for the numpties.

Beginners whisky my arse. It’s a sophisticated elegant dram that rewards an experienced palate. Why is it that a large number of the negative reviewers struggle with spelling. Go back to your Jim Beam, or if you’re really sophisticated perhaps try a Mr Walker Red, although that’s not really bad value.

Clean and Tidy

This stuff is dangerous. It's so nice I can easily drink a whole bottle in one night and wake up absolutely fine the next day. What ever they're doing they're doing it right.. So smooth and subtle.

Thank you.

A bottle of Glen Grant 10 year old single malt, bought on June 5th,1979 for £4.72, 43% proof, was finished 2 nights ago, on 30th November, 2020, in warding off Covid-19. Inherited. Sublime.

Harsh overtones and little character

For all the hype I found this to have very little character. I would rather a good blended whisky for the same price.

Great everyday scotch.

Pleasantly surprised! A lovely summer Scotch to watch the Sun go down with, partnerd with a nice Cigar makes for the perfect end to a nice evening..

Don’t believe the doubters

Beginner or expert it matters not, this is a quality whisky from an underrated distillery. The nose is not particularly complex, however it is pretty faultless. You’ll not find one off note in there. Just sweet fruits and a little spice. The taste delivers what the nose suggests, sweet fruit at the front of your palate, a little spice and move it to the back of your mouth and you will get a little bitterness to balance it. The finish is short and as you’d expect of a 10 year old, it’s not as smooth as it could be, but then the spirt is young. Try the 18 year old if you want more refinement and a longer finish, though the 10 isn’t rough by any means. It’s £30 after all, thats less than a meal out. It will last you longer, taste better and give you more pleasure.

Not Much character.

This is a bit lame. Finnish is quite long, but has nothing else to offer. Don't buy without tasting it. There are bettter choises at the same age range. (R)
