Glen Garioch 6yo 2010

6 year old Glen Garioch single malt aged in a refill hogshead, independently bottled by Douglas Laing as part of the Provenance series. Interesting to see a Glen Garioch bottled at a rather young age - this one was distilled in January 2010 and bottled in November 2016 with an outturn of 402 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Honey'd barley, mint chocolate, coconut biscuits.

Palate Vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips and hundreds & thousands.

Finish Mint chocolate returns, now with a touch of white oak spiciness.

Reviews for Glen Garioch 6 Year Old 2010 (cask 11560) - Provenance (Douglas Laing)
Recommended for a daily dram
Ginger, almond and coconut on the nose
The palate brings candied orange peel and vanilla
Short spicy finish.

71/100 in my book, which is not bad at all (I'm not one of those 5 stars or no stars voters). I love the nose on this especially; could go with smelling this all evening. Recommended for a daily dram.
