Distilled back in 1973 from peated, floor-malted barley, using direct gas-fired distillation, the whisky was initially filled into sherry wood, then married in a first-fill sherry butt in 2008, where it remained for the rest of its whopping 52-year maturation. Phenolic, rich, and dense, this offers a captivating, rare drinking experience, showcasing the influence of much older style production ingredients and methods, alongside the influence of generous ageing in older style sherry wood.
