Description
Who knows what might have happened to this single malt from Glen Garioch if it hadn't been bottled up by Forgotten Gems? There was such a small amount of it that perhaps it would have been destined to become the core of a rather special blend. While we've no doubt that blend would have been delicious, it's not every day you get to try a 29-year-old single malt from the Highland-based distillery, so thank goodness Forgotten Gems took the time to bottle it up as is. A release of 42 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Citrus blossom and silky honey join creamy grist and rich old oak, while blanched almonds and spiced fruit loaf develop in time.
Palate
Sweet layers of cooked apples and plums, drizzled with melted dark chocolate and a dusting of festive spice.
Finish
Ginger and cinnamon bring some warmth for the finish, with drying oak and lingering bittersweet spice.
