Glen Garioch 26yo #11761

A delicious 26 year old single malt from Glen Garioch, bottled as part of the Xtra Old Particular range by Douglas Laing. It was distilled in April 1991 and aged in a refill hogshead until June 2017, when it was bottled at cask strength with an outturn of 263 bottles. The XOP series received a redesign in mid-2017, including the addition of fancy glass closures. Shiny.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Banana fritters, chocolate brownie and freshly sliced green apples. Old oak furniture and a touch of tobacco.

Palate Cigar box elements once again show up on the palate, now paired with toffee pennies and oily walnut.

Finish Cinnamon, ginger and a layer of caramel.

Toffees & tobacco
Apples, fried bananas and chocolate, but: hits the back of the nose and palate with a sour note which overwhelms the nutty, oily depth. Finished with blunt spice, toffees & cigar ash!
