Glen Garioch 20 Year Old 2006 (Thompson Bros.)
Distilled at Glen Garioch in 2006, this single malt spent 20 years maturing in a pair of red wine barriques. Layered with notes of damsons, tobacco, bitter orange, and cacao, a total of 357 bottles are brought to us by Thompson Bros.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Blackcurrant concentrate, marzipan, pastry, sun-dried raisins, sun-dried tomatoes(?), violets, brambles, plums and cherry liqueur.
Palate
Sour Patch Kids, Ribena, cinnamon, chewing tobacco, damsons, figs and ground black pepper. Some bitter orange at the end, almost like Grand Marnier.
Finish
Long, dry and tannic with some dark cacao and a slightly acetic edge.
