Wine Cask

Deliciously decadent single malt from the Glen Garioch Distillery, which was distilled back in 1999 and fully matured in wine casks from Chateau Lagrange. In 2018, it was bottled up at 48% ABV, and this one packs oodles of red fruit notes alongside hints of festive spice.
Red apples, strawberries and cream with a touch of sugar, a slow build of honeyed oak.
Amaretti biscuits, raspberries, a touch of mead, dried cherries and lemongrass.
Christmas spices, ginger biscuits and another helping of red berries.

Very nice and intense, I really like it. In the nose it is still tart and dry, but I find it more diverse in the mouth. I have to admit that I did not recognize the wine barrel aging when I tasted it blindly, and I guessed it was an Oloroso aging.
