Glen Elgin 8 Year Old 2011 (cask 801801) - Highland Laird (Bartels Whisky)

Bartels Whisky is back with an indie, single cask Glen Elgin. After it was distilled in 2011, it spent the following eight years in a re-charred bourbon hogshead, until it was bottled in 2019 at cask strength. 317 bottles were released for the Highland Laird series at 56.9% ABV.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Silky caramel, just a hint of barbecued meat and honeyed grist.

    Palate

Oily malt and lots of ripe tropical notes, with barbecued pineapple, banana bread and anise.

    Finish

    Oak char and digestive biscuits.
