A forgotten gem from the Glen! Which Glen, you ask? Well yes, there are a few... this single malt hails from Speyside's Glen Elgin distillery. Matured for 17 years, a total of 45 bottles join the Forgotten Gems collection.
Juicy notes of yellow plum, citrus peels, and pith lead to a touch of root ginger before buttery oak and delicate vanilla join in time.
Big and characterful, with mouthcoating layers of sweet honey and pepper heat. There's juicy apricot and vanilla cream there too, with crumbly vanilla fudge, and a pinch of dried chilli.
Sweetness and spice continue to tangle, with rich layers of butterscotch, candied ginger, and cracked peppercorns.
