This Glen Elgin single malt was distilled back in March 2004 and initially matured in a hogshead cask, though it was eventually moved over to a Rivesaltes wine cask from Giraud in Segonzac for a finishing period, helping to bolster the whisky's fruity notes. At 16 years of age, it was bottled by Hannah Whisky Merchants for the Lady of the Glen range. Just 180 bottles were produced.
Stewed plums and warm sticky toffee pudding, with underlying malty earthiness.
Still plenty of plum notes to it, now with a hint of cherry and raisin. Cedar, caramel and clove.
Hints of banana bread, almond and a touch of cumin spiciness.
