Glen Elgin 13 Year Old 2008 (cask 805647) - Infrequent Flyers (Alistair Walker)
Single malt Scotch from Glen Elgin, distilled in June 2008 and filled into a single re-charred hogshead cask. It remained in the cask for 13 years, during which time it was selected by independent bottler Alistair Walker, releasing a total of 269 bottles in 2021 for the Infrequent Flyers series.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Buttery pastry and poached pears, bright orange zest with sticky cinnamon buns.
Palate
Spiced sultanas, sugar-coated almonds, with savoury wafts of black pepper balanced by floral blossom and orchard fruit.
Finish
Dense oak char, earthen vanilla, aromatic honey, and cedar spice.
