A 10 year old single malt from the Glen Elgin Distillery, finished in a Moscatel sherry octave cask and bottled up as part of the Darkness range! Darkness is all about well-sherried whiskies, and the small, specially-coopered octave casks impart a wealth of those yummy, rich, sherried notes to the whiskies which are finished within them. Top stuff indeed.
Poached pear and fresh orange, along with a hint of baked earth.
Baked goods, jammy sultanas, spiced fruit compote and banana fritters.
More sultanas! More baking spices! More general deliciousness!
Much better with a drop of water.. Oil of clove on the nose and initial taste. Very sweet. Enjoyable.
