Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 2010
An indie Glen Elgin, distilled in 2010 and allowed to age for 10 years. After a decade of rest, the Thompson Bros. came along and bottled it up at 48% ABV, with an outturn of 370 bottles. The label features a cat and several dumplings. We are uncertain of the connection between that and the whisky, or whether there even is a connection, but both cats and dumplings are cool so we approve whatever the case.
Toasted brown sugar, apple pie, a hint of rye bread.
More apple notes, now with orange and pear in the mix. Quite nutty, too.
Yellow plum, fried dough with a dusting of ground cinnamon, toffee.
