The first stills were fitted at Girvan grain whisky distillery in 1963, they came on stream at Christmas and the first proper production run took place at the very start of 1964. This, friends, is a 1964 vintage single cask bottling of Girvan distilled on 15th January. Pretty awesome, right? It was bottled in early 2016 after 52 years in a refill American oak barrel.
Rich, nutty and creamy with notes of Toffifee, Madeira, treacle and rum.
Great mouthfeel, rum-soaked fruit cake, thick caramels, baking spices and some cotton candy character.
Very long with brown sugar, chocolate and nutmeg.
Extraordinarily aged single grain Scotch whisky, and the oldest vintage of Girvan you'll ever see.

This ticks the box for me. Beautiful.
