Grain whisky that's half a century old! Just 153 bottles emerged from the single refill hogshead after this 50 year maturation (June 1965 to August 2015), each reserved for Douglas Laing's Extra Old Particular range of "Extraordinary", "Ridiculously Rare" whiskies.
Richly spiced toffee, which is what well matured grain is all about.
Interesting levels of wood spices, dark dates, peanut skin and treacle.
Cocoa and caramel with citrus hints.

I add to my previous comment that actually it does tastes like Durian fruit from the palate to the finish !!!!!
This is the best whisky I ever had. Nose: woody caramel and spicy baked apple, so wonderful and strong. Palate: passion fruit. Crazy damn passion fruit with peanuts. This is jawdroppingly insane. Finish: passion fruit and caramel This is the most insane stuff I ever had.
I have seen the light. This is a revelation. Spectacular. Luxurious in the mouth. Delicious toasted coconut and caramel. Smooth as silk. Worth every penny!
I've been enjoying the whisky advent, and what a way to bring it all together. All the warm toffee and caramel tones you'd expect, with an exceptional finish. My wife has hated everything I've had her try, with this she said, "I get it, I understand what you're talking about." Thank you folks for concocting this whisky adventure, Merry Christmas!
