Description

This single grain Scotch whisky from Girvan joins the Old Particular Red Wine Cask Collection from indie bottler Douglas Laing. Distilled in 2008, the whisky matured for a total of 16 years, including a finish in a Merlot red wine cask from France bringing layers of dark toffee, ganache, and red fruit character to the cereal and spice at its core.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Boiled sweeties, layers of syrupy, fruit-laden granola, honey, and toasty cereal.

Palate

Rich layers of dark chocolate and toffee, with gooey flapjack, dried red fruits, and oaken spice developing in the depths.

Finish

Layers of warming cinnamon, rich oak, vinous red fruits, and honeyed cereal.
