Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1991

A single cask bottling of Glen Elgin from Wemyss. Bottled in April 2009 at 46%. Each individual cask is named according to its flavours and aromas, and this one produced 335 bottles. The malts are not chill-filtered and no colour is added.
Great toffee flavour, balanced by leather and shot through with spicy cloves. It fills out with jammy notes.
The palate suggests dried fruit including prunes, raisins and sultanas. There are more spices here too, including cardamom.
Fairly short and sweet with lasting jammy spice.
This is a sweet and mouth filling dram best enjoyed without water.
