Filibuster Rye
Say hello to Filibuster Rye! Distilled in Washington DC, just like its bourbon partner this rye whiskey was initially aged in American oak (so far, so normal), before it was finished in French oak barrels that had been seasoned with Chardonnay! The finish imparts hints of honeyed sweetness and florals to temper the rye spice, so perhaps we have a whiskey that could convert wine drinkers over here...

Nose
Honeyed cinnamon, grape sweetness and toasty oak alongside a drizzle of caramel.
Palate
Fresh rye toast leads into mace, crème brûlée and honeysuckle.
Finish
Baked, spiced apple and creamy vanilla.
