Spirit of Yorkshire 9 Year Old 2017 (cask 2231) Odyssey Range Release – The Auld & The Bold (Berry Bros. & Rudd)
Berry Bros. & Rudd made The Auld & the Bold series to celebrate whisky regions old and new, and this Spirit of Yorkshire release captures the confidence of England’s modern whisky scene. Matured close to the North Sea and finished in Moscatel casks, it combines bright fruitiness with the distillery’s soft, cereal-rich house style.
Distilled in 2017 at Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery, this English single malt was matured for nine years before bottling at 57.1% ABV from cask #2231. A total of 318 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Apricot skin, raspberry jam, orange oils, pineapple, and blossom honey.
Palate
Peach flesh, ginger spice, chocolate shavings, and tropical fruit sweetness.
Finish
Fruity, lively, and softly spiced with lingering honey.
