Released in autumn 2025, Filey Bay STR Red Wine Cask showcases the distillery’s trademark elegance with a fresh twist of red fruit and sweetness drawn from the wood. The single malt was made entirely from homegrown barley and matured in shaved, toasted, and re-charred red wine casks using a bespoke solera-style system. More precisely, it's a fractional blending method where each batch of Filey Bay STR Red Wine Cask is part of an evolving whisky. Every time a bottling is drawn, it’s replenished with carefully chosen casks, building depth, consistency, and maturity over time.
Soft malt, honeyed biscuit, and red apple with a touch of marzipan.
Creamy and balanced with notes of boiled sweets, red berries, and toasted oak.
Long and gently spiced, with lingering fruit and sweet cereal warmth.


A really well made, complex drink with a lasting finish. It coats your mouth with red apple, pineapple chunks, light floral and a bit of allspice. Perfect for a winter's evening or a sip on the beach, next to a camp fire. Delicious!
