Fielden is a rye whisky produced at the Oxford Artisan Distillery using heritage grains that are grown without any synthetic chemicals. The company has now rebranded as Fielden and production has moved up to Yorkshire.
Such a disappointment versus what the old oxford distillery options were. There’s none of the vanilla tang that easy ryder had, and definitely not the depth of heritage grains. Quite a strong hit of alcohol in the sample bottle. Simply not worth it. Now on the lookout for a new rye whisky. Even the rye spirit was more drinkable than this.
My wife purchased a bottle for my birthday and it tasted like someone has mixed gin with a really rough whisky! Bizzare
A touch of sourness to the nose like a nice ripe bread starter. Warmth and spice in the mouth. Vanilla and sweetness on the finish. A whiff of christmas cake. You gently snort air out your nose as a joke lands whilst watching telly; chomping on ginger nuts dipped in a lovely cup of tea.
Absolutely love this. I read about Fielden's farming somewhere and finally got round to ordering a bottle. It did not disappoint. Sometimes I find rye whiskies a bit aggressive but this one is really smooth and buttery. Great over ice.
Superb aroma, warm and smooth to sip, rich colour and taste .. truly magnificent
