From the Fettercairn distillery at the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains comes the Fettercairn Fasque, which is named after a country estate that is also rather close to the distillery. It's an unpeated expression from the Highland distillery.
Baking spices, dried fruits, poached pears and a good whiff of oak.
Toffee pennies, oak spice and vanilla. Subtle mocha notes along the way.
Medium, with raisins and sultanas reappearing.
Really quite nice.

Different. I came across this in Tesco at a very good price and as I had tried Fettercairn before (a 6 year old) I decided to try it. I thought there was an underlying toffee/molasses flavour to it. Drinkable but I think I will stick to Aberlour A'Bunadh
This one really grew on me. First glass I found sulphury, borderline unpleasant. Each successive dram though (I never give up on a scotch) improved my opinion. I now love the rich, chocolatey mouth feel and the tingling finish. Definitely one to snap up if you see it sub 30 in the supermarket.
Excellent - lovely smokey flavored.
Bought for a present for the father but decided to give it a try as I'm not a whisky drinker but must say I'm surprised by the taste, will definitely buy again Regards Sophie
