Fettercairn - Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
The first ever batch of Fettercairn single malt to be bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The three tourists on the label seem a little confused, though, having overshot the distillery by a few miles and ending up at Cairn O' Mounth.
Batch 1 is a release of 170 numbered bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, blended malts, blends and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic-novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Biscuits dunked in coffee, blueberries, peach skin, apple peel, ripe banana and sesame oil. Raw sugar and a hint of nougat.
Palate
Slices of green apple with caramel (Twix bar-style) slowly building quite wonderfully.
Finish
Slightly drying with caramel, custard and perhaps a hint of smoke too.
Overall
A slightly unusual nose soon reveals layers of fruity complexity with heart warming caramel taking the lead from the mid-palate onwards. This rocks.
