The folks at Famous Grouse took the classic blended Scotch and treated it to a finish in Port seasoned casks here, imparting generous helpings of stewed dark fruit and spice to the mix. One to enjoy after a cheese board, or with a nice slice of fruit cake perhaps?
Malted Milk biscuits, vanilla wafers, dried, woody baking spice.
Roasted malt and raisins bring notes of tea loaf, with clove and cinnamon, toffee apples, and a touch of ginger.
Mellow oak, forest fruits, and caramelised spiced biscuits finish things off.

I can barely believe it's a blended scotch. Compares favorably to many pricey single malts and leaves blends like Johnny Walker Green and Monkey Shoulder in the dust. Full bodied, caramel-y, buttery and smooth, with absolutely none of the grain alcohol harshness that I usually find in most blends. Love drinking it neat. So far it's the best bargain in scotch that I've come across, a real find.
