Famous Grouse Bourbon 1L

Famous Grouse Bourbon Cask was the inaugural launch within the Cask Series, designed to showcase different types of oak cask and add greater depth of flavours to the standard blend. A blend of whiskies mostly aged in American Oak and first-fill bourbon casks, in a nice big litre bottle.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Fragrant sweet honey with hints of caramel.

Palate A delicious combo of vanilla ice-cream and toasted coconut with citrus peel.

Finish A sweet soft oak finish.

My now favourite everyday tipple. Very drinkable with caramel & vanilla notes. Will certainly buy again, and again.

wow, delicious!
A step above the fantastic entry level blended, though in my zone the prices are similar, just a tiny above. Malty and creamy. It's like putting in a balanced way. a caramel layer over the standar blend.

Honest and Pleasant
An interesting dram. I'm not a fan of too much sherry cask, so initially this really suited me. I drank, this with a little spring water and really enjoyed it. However, by the time I got towards the bottom of the bottle, I found the taste to be a little two dimensional. Needed a little more depth of flavour. A good honest dram, if it was a choice between this version of Grouse and Ballantines Finest, then the latter would be first choice. I have no problem saying - give it a try, it's there and there abouts.
