Elijah Craig Small Batch Bottling Note

Elijah Craig has long been a favourite bourbon of many whiskey enthusiasts - to the point where their stocks of 12 year old bourbon have been under a lot of pressure. The producers made the decision to discontinue the 12 Year Old expression and create this expression to take its place. It manages to maintain the incredibly high quality that Elijah Craig is known for, including the delicious core of cooked apple drizzled in honey notes. This expression has been well received, taking home not one but two San Francisco World Spirits Competition Double Gold medals!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Honeycomb, fresh cedar, marmalade and some spicy cardamom seed.

Palate: Baked apples with a dusting of cinnamon, followed by fresh honey and cookie dough.

Finish: Lingering nutmeg and charred oak.

Reviews for Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
A masterpiece!
From the very first sip, it's evident that this is a spirit crafted with unparalleled care and precision. The complexity of flavors in this bourbon is nothing short of extraordinary.

The rich, deep caramel and vanilla notes are simply sublime, mingling beautifully with the warm, toasty oak undertones. It's as if each drop has been aged to perfection.

Highly recommend, will be purchasing again.

Great value for money
Took a punt on this, as normally I drink Jack, but was well worth the extra money. Big flavour and tasted creamy

Smooth Excellence in Bourbon
Elijah Craig gets a solid 5 stars from me. The smell of caramel and vanilla is awesome, and the taste with hints of toffee and a bit of spice is really good. It goes down super smooth and leaves a warm feeling. The aftertaste of oak and sweetness is nice. Among bourbons, Elijah Craig is top-notch.

Old Fashioned Winner
Hands down my favourite Bourbon. Strong cherry notes on the nose and pallet, with a delightful long finish. My go to Old Fashioned whisk(e)y!

Definitely up there as far as premium is concerned to me…
I’ve made the switch from scotch to bourbon, I like the corn. I was a stitch afficiando until the spicy robust bourbon won me over. Hands down I’m pretty picky since my favorites are mostly from the Beam line and family, I like their yeast product it goes for a nice dry finish. So it’s hard to like another bourbon but this Elijah has won me over, also George Dickel, and George Stagg, to name a few..

This bottle has confirmed my general dislike for American corn whiskeys Very heavy, brutish, almost chemical taste. I am sure this is just my own palate, but I much prefer the lighter Canadian rye whiskies such as Pendelton, Crown, etc.

Awesome bourbon
Every once in a while comes a bottle that makes you wonder if now you're an alcoholic, because it calls your name whenever you pass by the pass by your bar. This is one of those bottle. (You understand you're okay when the bottle is finished though ;))

A great dram
I’m no expert on whiskey i’m simply working through a list of 50 whiskeys, i’m having a great time by the way, this whiskey is great it is strong on the pallet but if you keep it in you mouth swill it around you’ll be just fine great price and great taste simples

Excellent value
Many of the reviews here are out of touch. This is an inexpensive bottle - it's unlikely to be the BEST you've EVER had.

But it's pretty great.

Anyone who says it's too spicy hasn't tried the similarly priced WT101.

This bourbon is a heck of a bargain, and it's one that will always be in my liquor cabinet.

First taste is more harsh than I expected.
This may be due to the high alcohol
volume (47%). I was hoping for
something more sweet. Still a very bold,
spiced taste. Not as nice as I hoped.
