As the years go by, the Single Barrel releases from Elijah Craig seem to get older too. It makes sense, doesn't it? And let us tell you - sense tastes like awesome 23 year old Elijah Craig bourbon, matured in cask #131. A very specific taste, with plenty of oaken touches, vanilla notes some very subtle wine-like hints.
Can a bourbon be too smooth? Well this one is. Even drinking it neat I kept waiting for something to happen. It went down so smooth that I almost missed the flavor. I liked it but I want a bourbon with a little more of a bite to it.
