Egan's 10 Year Old Bottling Note

A single malt from an undisclosed distillery bottled by revived Irish whiskey brand Egan's. The whiskey has been aged for a minimum of 10 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks, before being bottled at 47%.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Light smoke alongside aromas of pineapple, coconut, vanilla, apples and freshly baked cookies.

Palate: Malty cereal notes and cream intertwined with mango, banana and cranberries.

Finish: Honeyed, malty sweetness and notes of oak in the long finish.

Reviews for Egan's 10 Year Old Single Malt
What a find. Great value and a hell of an addition to one of my fav ranges
I think Egan's could go some way to being one of the best brands to come out of the Irish Whisky market and this bottling is the perfect example. I love the story of the Egans family and I also personally love independent bottlers who are able to be exploratory with their range. This is unlike anything in the Egans portfolio. It's full of malty cereal but the exotic, tropic notes are just stunning. Great value and a brand to really watch out for in the UK

Just delicious
Egans seem to be winning more and more awards so I decided to sample the goods. Malty cereal notes and cream intertwined with mango, banana and cranberries. Beautiful

Decent but overpriced
Having just tried the Proper 12 Irish blend (proper grim) and after a few run of the mill Irish Whiskies of late my hopes were low for this 10 year old that seemed a bit pricey. Alas i was pleasantly surprised by the lush tropical fruit and pineapple fondant on offer here with some lovely playful aromatic baking spices and mango salsa notes. Still £65 for a 10yo Mystery single malt that is either Bushmills, Teeling or Midleton stock is still a price tag to far for this and the Irish Whiskey sector is in danger of becoming somewhat lost in a lot of brands that are sourcing the Whiskey from the same few distilleries and taste very similar in taste profile.
