Edradour
Scotland
Single Malt
Distilled on the 19th November 1997 and initially matured in a hogshead before reracking into a Moscatel sherry hogshead on the 2nd May 2007. A delicious whisky with berry fruit jam notes...
Very jammy – strawberry jam in particular, and in a big way. Think jam on warm spongecake; loads of syrupy sweetness. Has a pleasing musty edge to it, and it develops into wild strawberries.
Jammy with a slice of custard tart – this is just like dessert; buttery, biscuity as well, with the strawberry jam developing massively into the late palate.
Young cereals with wild strawberries, a little hay too.
As I am a fan of Edradour, my wife bought me this malt as a gift for my birthday. One word describes this malt - Wow! If the regular Edradour is excellent, this is better!
