Single Malt
Edradour
Scotland
This was distilled on the 19th November 1997, and it was filled into hogsheads. On the 2nd May 2007, it was reracked into a Chateauneuf du Pape hogshead, before it was bottled on the 18th April 2011. There are just 436 bottles of this cask strength, wine-finished Edradour. Loads of flavour, it reminds us of strawberry jam. Mmm!
Aromatic and intense with notes of dry oak, toffee, strawberry jam and dessert wine. Very curious. Wood sheds, some linseed oil and caramel.
Fruity and thick, like rhubarb crumble with hot, bubbling strawberry jam on a stove. Peppery, spicy and sweet. More of those dessert wine notes from the nose, almost like a sweet PX sherry. Lovely stuff, and quite mad!
Treacle and fruity honey, some floral notes, and all kinds of berry fruits on the tail.
