This was distilled on the 19th November 1997, and it was filled into hogsheads. On the 2nd May 2007, it was reracked into a Chateauneuf du Pape hogshead, before it was bottled on the 18th April 2011. There are just 436 bottles of this cask strength, wine-finished Edradour. Loads of flavour, it reminds us of strawberry jam. Mmm!
Nose: Aromatic and intense with notes of dry oak, toffee, strawberry jam and dessert wine. Very curious. Wood sheds, some linseed oil and caramel.
Palate: Fruity and thick, like rhubarb crumble with hot, bubbling strawberry jam on a stove. Peppery, spicy and sweet. More of those dessert wine notes from the nose, almost like a sweet PX sherry. Lovely stuff, and quite mad!
Finish: Treacle and fruity honey, some floral notes, and all kinds of berry fruits on the tail.
