Edradour
Scotland
Single Malt
This was distilled at Edradour on the 30th June 2000 and it was aged in hogsheads until the 22nd November 2008, at which time it was transferred into a Burgundy hogshead and finished before bottling on the 18th July 2011. A release of 439 bottles.
Menthol, herbal notes, sweet spices, Port wine and honey.
Unusual and quite herbal with aromatic notes of Aussie shiraz (peppery with dark fruits), jammy and malt-laden.
Good length, hints of cinnamon and apple.
i recently had the sheer joy of being gifted a bottle of Edradour "Straight from the Cask". this whisky has a very pleasant and gentle nose,a delightful teaser of what is to come! the flavour is quite unique,a delightfully balanced peaty-ness yet room for the more delicate flavours of pepper, sherry and gentle fruits. the finish is clean and enduring.. it is certainly worth securing this fine whisky and savouring it !
