This was distilled at Edradour on the 30th June 2000 and it was aged in hogsheads until the 22nd November 2008, at which time it was transferred into a Burgundy hogshead and finished before bottling on the 18th July 2011. A release of 439 bottles.
Nose: Menthol, herbal notes, sweet spices, Port wine and honey.
Palate: Unusual and quite herbal with aromatic notes of Aussie shiraz (peppery with dark fruits), jammy and malt-laden.
Finish: Good length, hints of cinnamon and apple.

i recently had the sheer joy of being gifted a bottle of Edradour "Straight from the Cask".this whisky has a very pleasant and gentle nose,a delightful teaser of what is to come! the flavour is quite unique,a delightfully balanced peaty-ness yet room for the more delicate flavours of pepper, sherry and gentle fruits.the finish is clean and enduring..it is certainly worth securing this fine whisky and savouring it !
