Ballechin 11 Year Old 2008 (cask 195) - Straight From The Cask

A sherry cask matured peated single malt from the Edradour Distillery, released under the Ballechin name (as is customary for its peaty whiskies). It was distilled back in August 2008 and left to age in an Oloroso sherry cask for 11 years, before being bottled at cask strength in October 2019. This expression from the Straight From The Cask was a release of 984 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Stewed berries with good helpings of cinnamon and nutmeg, plus roasted oak slowly building in the background.

    Palate

Enjoyably earthy and smoky, juxtaposed with dried fruit and dark chocolate shavings.

    Finish

Good quality coffee, toasty malt and hickory smoke.
