Distilled on 20th August 2010, this single malt from Edradour is released under the Ballechin name, indicating there is peat to be expected here! After a decade of maturation in a single Oloroso sherry cask, the whisky was bottled on 10th June 2021, with a cask strength of 60.1% ABV and an outturn of 893 bottles.
Oily with a whiff of pebbly grist, smoked thyme currant buns, and earthy peat.
Flaked dark chocolate, rich malty oak, smoky peat, raisins and hints of dried savoury herbs.
Mixed spices and dark brown sugar, candied orange, figs, and smouldering ashes.
