A single-cask, cask strength rye whisky, East London Liquor Co. Chardonnay Rye Whisky - Cask #57 was made from a mash bill of 55% Norfolk Rye and 45% Marris Otter barley. It was aged for 4.5 years inside a single second-fill Chardonnay barrel and bottled at a big 57% ABV without chill-filtration. There's just 273 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Aromas of ripe red apples and delicate floral fruitiness. Sweet notes of raspberry ice cream and peach blend with hints of grass and birch sap.
Palate
Pear and red apple at the forefront. Creamy caramel adds a rich sweetness, balanced by subtle earthy leather tones.
Finish
Soft and lingering, with floral fruitiness and grassy freshness.
