    Eagle Rare 10 Year Old

All the way from the legendary Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, comes Eagle Rare 10 Year Old. A spectacular Kentucky straight Bourbon whiskey, matured for at least a decade before making its way into its distinctive bottles at 45% ABV. What's so distinctive about the bottles, you ask? Well, we're going to say it's the massive bald eagle, wings outstretched, looking like it's about to snatch up some dinner. Distinctive, yes? The whiskey is also pretty distinctive too, boasting full-bodied notes of cinder toffee, orange peel and buttery corn.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Toasted oak gives way to flamed orange peel and maple syrup.

    Palate

Honey, buttered bread, oily walnuts and a touch of red fruit.

    Finish

Vanilla, oak spice and a little bit of old leather.

    Overhyped, overpriced

    Regular buffalo trace is better.

    Brilliant, regret leaving it out!

Like others I regret I am late to the party with this. Tops most of its rivals in my opinion. I thought wild turkey 101 was the best of the bunch vs makers mark, woodford or four Rose's. Bargain price, and rivals many single barrels, I have it just edging JDs single barrel select for enjoyment. Onto the next one!

    Better than I thought

I put this one my list, due to the reviews listed below, and I am glad I did. I actually get Honey and buttered bread on the palate, normally I just read the tasting notes and go, nope I did not get what people say. Adding a few drops of water, really opens this drink up. I have already added to my list to buy again. Kev Doncaster

    Excellent

This has been on by list to buy for sometime, now I wish I had brought sooner. The tasting notes from Master of Malt, are very close to what I detected. This is now on my list to purchase again. Kev Doncaster

    I'll be getting this again

I was very pleasntly surprised by how much I enjoyed this. Had my first glass at bottle strenght but added a drop of water to my second glass and this really brought out the flavour. Oak and cherry dominate for me. Not had a lot of experience with bourbon, this one has made me a fan.
