Dumbarton 22yo TBWC Bottling Note

The first bottling of Dumbarton single grain Scotch whisky from That Boutique-y Whisky Company! An excellent expression from this sadly-closed distillery, which had a reputation for creating quite a heavy spirit (as well as for being guarded by geese - but that's another story altogether). This characteristically weighty spirit inspired the Boutique-y label, which features strongmen, heavy-duty cranes and a particularly unlucky relation to the grey wolf.

Batch 1 is a release of 155 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Thick, dark and sweet. The nose is filled with treacle toffee, coffee grounds and bramble berries. Rich and meaty notes develop, with honey-glazed smoked game meat and walnut oil. Antique oak and a little leather are present underneath.

Palate Flamed citrus, dark chocolate and plenty of sticky dried fruit initially, with peanut brittle, damp wood and flickers of oak spice coming to the fore with time.

Finish Marmalade on thick slices of brown bread.

Overall A knockout dram. Lots of delicious flavours are muddled together beautifully here.
