Incredibly old single grain Scotch whisky from a closed distillery - and it's quite exciting indeed. It was distilled by Dumbarton all the way back in 1964 and filled into a single bourbon barrel, where it slumbered for 53 years! After that lengthy snooze, the whisky was bottled by Hunter Laing for The Sovereign range, producing just 192 bottles.
Earthy oak, butterscotch, old leather and winter spices.
Poached pear, brown sugar and filo pastry, milky coffee, rancio.
Continued rancio and cigar box, with vanilla-y sweetness developing underneath.
