Dumbarton 46 Year Old 1964 - The Clan Denny (Douglas Laing)

This is a forty-six year old Dumbarton bottled by Clan Denny. Dumbarton is a grain whisky which means it is with un-malted grain. Although cheaper to make than single malt, when aged sufficiently grain whisky can be simply delicious!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Digestive biscuits, vanilla, milky porridge with warm honey and a touch of baked pear sprinkled with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Palate

Smooth and supple with creamy latte notes, milk chocolate and caramel.

Finish

The finish is stupefyingly long with spice and apple tart flavours.

Overall

Complex, full bodied and a long finish - this is why grain whisky is great.
