Dumbarton 22 Year Old 1997 (cask 178) - Infrequent Flyers (Alistair Walker)
Lost distillery whisky alert! This single grain was distilled at Dumbarton in 1997, just five years before the distillery closed for good in 2002. It was finished in a single virgin oak cask before Alistair Walker bottled it up in 2020 at 22 years old. A limited 202 bottles were released for the Infrequent Flyers series at 55.3% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Candied flowers, slightly creamy ground almond and biscuity grain sweetness.
Palate
Praline and oaky vanilla, with honey ice cream and almond croissant.
Finish
Oily nuts, icing sugar and floral oak.
