Dufftown 40 Year Old 1978 Single Cask (Master of Malt)
Magnificent Dufftown single malt, distilled in 1978 and matured for a whopping four decades in a single cask. As it reached maturity, we managed to snap up enough for just 23 bottles, which now take pride of place in our exclusive collection of Master of Malt single cask releases.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Old oak furniture, malted milk biscuits, creamy coffee, and maple-roasted pecans. Fragrant leather and cigar box spice arrive in time.
Palate
Layer upon layer of dark cherries, dark chocolate studded with dried raspberries, and robust, wintery spice.
Finish
Poached pears are joined by nutty, earthen notes of truffle and zingy gooseberries, with hearty old oak lingering.
