Probably Speyside's Finest Distillery 30 Year Old 1986 (cask 12232) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
A mysterious single malt, independently bottled by Douglas Laing for their Xtra Old Particular range. It was distilled in November 1986 and matured in a refill butt for 30 years, until October 2017. Following that, it was bottled at cask strength with an outturn of 319 bottles with the name "Probably Speyside's Finest Distillery".
Tasting Note by The Producer
Opens with strawberry tarts, porridge with honey, plus chocolate, hazelnuts and dates. The palate shows peppery oak with toffee apples, dried fruits and a mocha quality, and the fruity finish has a rich, allspice character with toasted nuts and warm fruitcake.
