Probably Orkney's Finest Distillery 12 Year Old 2008 (cask 14290) - Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Douglas Laing is being coy once again with this mysterious single malt, distilled in 2008 on Orkney at Probably Orkney's Finest Distillery. It's up to you to figure the rest out. We do know that it rested for 12 years in a single refill hogshead, before it was bottled at 48.4% ABV with an outturn of 430 bottles for the Old Particular series. Time to get your thinking hats on!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Salted caramel and stewed orchard fruit, along with gingersnap biscuits.

Palate

A suggestion of smoke supports peppery oak, more ginger and freshly baked cookies.

Finish

Lingering gentle smoke, touches of oak char and apple blossom.
