An independently bottled 6 year old single malt Scotch whisky from an undisclosed distillery on the isle of Islay - a small batch release from Douglas Laing's Single Minded range. Would be very interesting to hear which distillery you think this one comes from, after you try it...
Quite smooth. Hints of vanilla, leather. Lovely to sip. Pretty sure it's Kilchoman.
All the typical characteristics of an Islay but a heavier peat without the iodine. Got a bit of a bite, but a very nice dram for such a young Whiskey. Would buy a bottle (got it as part of the scotch Whiskey Advent Calendar).
If you like moonshine, this is your whisky.
This must sit in between Laphroaig and Lagavulin. A well balanced, peaty flavoured with plenty of smoke; one of my all time favourites. One of Islay's treasures; a gem and I need to know, please? Marc Ogilvie
