    Single Malt

Caol Ila 28 Year Old 1990 (cask 12536) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)

Well-matured single malt from east coast of Islay - it's a 28 year old Caol Ila single malt, independently bottled by Douglas Laing as part of the Xtra Old particular range. This is one for those of you with a penchent for peat. It was distilled in March 1990 and aged in a single refill hogshead until June 2018, then bottled with an outturn of 201 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Coastal air and a touch of ash, along with a hint of biscuit dough sweetness.

    Palate

Continued smoky peat with charcoal richness, layered with spiced fruit and dry barley.

    Finish

    Peppery and nutmeg spiciness lingers.
