Here we have a 21 year old Deanston 1996 single malt, which has had an interesting maturation. It initially aged in bourbon cask before being treated to a finishing period in a Koval bourbon cask. It was bottled at 46% ABV in 2018 by Murray McDavid for the Benchmark series.
Nose Fruity sweetness and toffee. Fresh apples, ripe banana and chewy sultanas.
Palate Mango, vanilla, more toffee and gingerbread, with slightly nutty undertones.
Finish A lingering finish with vanilla ice cream drizzled in toffee sauce.
